The pertinent portion of Idaho’s postconviction DNA testing statute, Idaho Statutes Section 19-4902(d) , provides in relevant part that:

A petitioner who pleaded guilty in the underlying case may file a petition [for postconviction DNA testing] under subsection (b) of this section

So, where does that leave pleading defendants? 

As the language of the statute makes clear, pleading defendants can seek postconviction DNA testing in Idaho.
